Scorched Earth (http://www.dafont.com/scorched-earth.font?text=Silent+Captive)I have took this font into mind because it's a sans serif font meaning that it's bold, this helps because it would be more visible and attractive to the audience, this would help meet the purpose of the graphic design, which is to promote and advertise the film to an audience to get them to go see the film. The font would be suitable to the target audience who see the film as they are around their late teens and early 20's and I feel that because the logo connotes a more youthful tone due to the rough feel the text. The target audience who also see the film may likely be fans of the psychological thriller genre and so the scratched look of the font, in my opinion, looks like it has been scratched or worn away by someone tearing at it, most likely an insane person with an unstable mental state, this can be a common trope in psychological thrillers.
Font Idea 2:
Filth of Icarus (http://www.dafont.com/filth-of-icarus.font?text=Silent+Captive&psize=l&back=theme)This font is again a sans serif font, but with the style of the font I feel is also a cross between a serif font too as there are extensions to the foundation of the font. The font is also quite thin compared to the other fonts, it's slender form doesn't really target a specific audience, although it would fit the younger audiences such as 18 to early 30's as it looks more slick and modern compared to a more simple font like Impact. I think this font is suitable for the psychological thriller genre, due to the look of it reminding me of a scene where a patient would write with their blood in a isolation chamber, it also looks like it's deteriorating which could connote to the mind doing so in the film, this would make it easy to attract the audiences who enjoy this genre.
Font Idea 3:
On the Horizon (http://www.dafont.com/on-the-horizon.font?text=Silent+Captive&psize=l&back=theme)This font is another sans serif font, but I like to think it mixes both idea one and two, it is still slender but is also quite bold. It also isn't straight and is quite uneven in proportions, compared to basic default fonts. I believe, like the others, that this font not only fits the genre, but is also suitable for the audiences that the graphic design it's used in will be targeted at. It's also quite bold too, to say it's a slender font, this may make it more noticable to the audiences too.
